Compton Heights House Tour
The Compton Heights House Tour has become a popular opportunity to take a step back in time and into amazing historic homes rarely seen by the public. The 2023 tour is even more special as it is the first tour since weathering the pandemic. Our home tours are the primary fundraisers for the maintenance and improvement of the Compton Heights/Compton Hill neighborhood. Part of our neighborhood’s mission is to bring awareness to the history and wealth of architecture in the City of Saint Louis; to showcase the variety of the architectural styles of each historic home and diversity of the neighborhoods; to encourage revitalization and preservation of historic homes and to benefit the programs and projects of our neighborhoods.
This year we are focusing on the legacy of the beer barons of Compton Heights. Our neighborhood was home to the Anheuser-Busch family, the Griesedieck family, the Lemp family and many more families who made their living working at one of the historical breweries in St. Louis.
We would be remiss not to highlight the exceptional brewing heritage that has played a role in the creation and continuation of our neighborhood. St Louis continues to be home to some of the nation’s best breweries. We want you to be a part of this event to showcase our world-class brewing tradition in St. Louis.
We will have two Biergartens open for our visitors and would love to include your beer in our lineup. Breweries are encouraged to pour for free as a donation/promotion. Whether you want to simply donate your product, be an event sponsor or set up a tasting tent with your staff to promote your brewery, we look forward to your participation in this highly anticipated event.
